IHM Sisters had the Final Professions of 21 Sisters in 2021 after a reduced number in the previous year due to Covid 19 outbreak and precautions.

The ceremonies took place on the 3rd and 7th September at the Basilica of the Most Holy Trinity, Onitsha of Anambra State and Holy Trinity Cathedral, Orlu in Imo State respectively.   While 11 Sisters did theirs at Onitsha, 9 others had theirs at Orlu.

About the ceremony, Mother Mary Claude Oguh, the Superior General of the Congregation said:  “I know that our Father Founder, Archbishop Charles Heerey, looking down from heaven, will be very happy to see this Congregation  grow as he had prayed …”.  She prayed that the Sisters who made their Final Profession and all the Sisters would grow in spirituality.

Both ceremonies accorded the Sisters the opportunity to renew their commitment to God in the Religious Life.  The celebrations also allowed many others to share in their joy and offered renewal for good Christian living.

Most Rev. Denis Chidi Isizoh, the Auxiliary Bishop of Onitsha Archdiocese presided at the celebration at Onitsha and Msgr.  Vincent Mbah, the Vicar for Religious in Orlu diocese,  was the chief celebrant for the celebration at Orlu.
