*THE SILVER JUBILEE CELEBRATION OF MADONNA MODEL SECONDARY SCHOOL, WORKS LAYOUT, OWERRI
On the auspicious occasion of its silver jubilee, Madonna Model Secondary School, Works Layout Owerri celebrated a milestone that marked 25 years of dedication service to education and employment. The Celebration, held on 20th October 2024, was a vibrant amalgamation of achievements, memories and a hopeful glance towards the future.
The Auxiliary Bishop of Owerri Archdiocese: His Excellency Most Rev. Moses Chikwe led the solemn mass of Thanksgiving in honour of the celebration. In his homily marked THE MISSION SUNDAY.
The Auxiliary Bishop admonished the people to show love to one another as the Lord has shown us. He further said “All are welcome to the table of the Lord through our Godly attributes; way of life and relationship with other people. He reiterated that the Holy Father Pope Francis, has called everyone to be missionaries in the society. Missionary by our way of lives, work as well as relationship with others. “You know who’s the greatest by the way he serves.” Jesus urges us all to humble ourselves and serve, to stoop low and become servants of all. No matter who we are or what we are, God can transform us. The Bishop in his regards to celebration of Madonna Model Secondary School on her Silver Jubilee further said that the Archdiocese has always been keen on education and Madonna Model Secondary School hasn’t fallen short of their obligations/expectations for quality education and impacting on the lives of ‘Nobles’ all over the world. He challenged the students to live up to expectations and imbibe the discipline that is part of the institution for better growth/development of the society.
The event was a grand affair, graced by Arcbishop Emeritus of Owerri Archdiocese, His Excellency Most Rev. A.J.V. Obinna, Mother Emerita of IHM, Mother Mary Joseph Uzoigwe, His royal highness Eze I. C. Opara of Orji Autonomous Owerri, Commissioner of education Imo State, Prof. Johncliff Nwadike, IHM central administration, IHM Education Secretary, Sr. Mary Amanda Nwagbo, IHM sisters, priests and religious of different congregations, Director of education Owerri Archdiocese, Rev. Fr. Wilfred Nwachukwu, P.T.A exco and general house, Students from other IHM schools, such as CHMJ Urualla and Mater Christ Schools, Ahiara and Alumni of Madonna Model Secondary School, Works Layout Owerri.
The event was graced with the Launching of the Madonna Book by the commissioner of education, band parade, cultural dance, presentation by pupils of Madonna N/P school, principal’s dance with graduants, and award given to merited students.
The silver jubilee celebration served as a reminder of school’s unwavering commitment to providing quality education and employment to every child, ensuring they soar to greater heights.
In the heartwarming ambience of celebration and camaraderie the Silver Jubilee of Madonna Model Secondary School, Works Layout Owerri was a resounding success.
